In life, as we live we are ultimately bound to go through experiences we wish never happened. Things we want to forget, push down or even hide.
Yet it is through acknowledging those very experiences that through it, it can bring peace, strength, transformation & even beauty.
Through the many years of creating this series, In TheShadows, I explore the vulnerable aspects of the human existence. Desiring to shine light on the daunting & sometimes terrifying act of opening up to ones whole self. It is my desire to show through these paintings the beauty that is possible through the act of being present, raw & vulnerable. That is where true strength and beauty are born.
It is with this series I wish to highlight the polarity in experience, finding the silver lining in all of lifes moments. Of dark and light, the seen and unseen. I paint the strong yet delicate feminine silhouette in a realist form using acrylics in black, greys and highlighting with silver.
Onward captures the beauty of moving forward despite setbacks. Through the detailed work of the incredible human body featuring the legs & feet that quite literally move us.
